Sequential Embryo Transfer

Sequential Embryo Transfer

What is Sequential Embryo Transfer?
Sequential Embryo Transfer is a two-step approach where embryos are transferred at different developmental stages (Day 3 and Day 5). This method enhances the chances of successful implantation by targeting both endometrial receptivity windows.

How does it work?

  1. On Day 3, early cleavage-stage embryos are transferred.
  2. On Day 5, a transfer is done for the more advanced blastocyst-stage embryos.

This strategy ensures higher embryo exposure to the uterine environment, increasing the likelihood of pregnancy for patients with prior failed IVF attempts or suspected implantation issues.

Who is it recommended for?

  • Patients with recurrent implantation failures
  • Women with poor uterine receptivity
  • Couples facing unexplained infertility

Sequential transfers help maximize embryo utilization and align with endometrial receptivity timing for a successful outcome.
